Applications

We are one of three EEG labs in the UMass Psychology Department. Our lab has a 64+8 channel BioSemi <ActiveTwo> system, and is a shared facility used by multiple researchers. It is managed by Jane Ashby and Charles Clifton.  More detailed information is available at http://www.umass.edu/eeglab.

Current research projects include the following:

  • Jane Ashby, Keith Rayner, Charles Clifton: Phonological processing during reading (funded by NIH HD-051700)
  • Charles Clifton: Prosody in focus and discourse comprehension
  • Adrian Staub and Charles Clifton: Local coherence effects in sentence parsing (funded by NIH HD-18708)
  • Rebecca Ready: Changes in emotions with age: Motivational and cognitive determinants.
  • Nilanjana (Buju) Dasgupta: Why does anger increase automatic bias against outgroups? An ERP investigation.
