Data acquisition and signal processing
for psychophysiology
Psychophysiologists
use multimodal physiological measurements to characterize
physiological correlates of experimental manipulations.
EEG is a commonly measured parameter; however,
psychophysiological studies often include measures relating not
only to central but peripheral nervous system activity. In
addition to EEG, psychophysiologists often use ECG, EMG, EOG,
respiration rate, temperature, pulse/heart rate, and a number of
other parameters. We offer a number of data acquisition
systems and signal analysis solutions useful in
psychophysiological research. |
Data acquisition systems
Multi-modal data acquisition system with active electrodes
ActiveTwo is a powerful new
high-resolution biosignal acquisition system that incorporates some revolutionary
concepts. Active
electrode technology is just one of the
significant innovations in the ActiveTwo system. By placing active
electronics within millimeters of the actual electrode contact,
ActiveTwo
virtually eliminates the need to prepare the scalp before applying electrodes.
This can cut measurement preparation time by an estimated 15 -30 minutes for
most laboratories!
ActiveTwo can also be equipped with additional sensors for respiration,
skin conductance, temperature, plethysmograph (pulse) and other
parameters. An optional isolated analog input box makes it
possible to acquire almost any type of signal synchronously with the
signals sampled by the ActiveTwo A/D box.
As an added benefit, ActiveTwo comes with powerful data
acquisition software developed in National Instruments' LabView. We
provide the compiled software so you do not need to own LabView, and you do not
need to be a programmer to operate the system. For those laboratories with
programming resources, the source code is provided so that you can add any
special features that you may need. |

Multi-modal data acquisition under
MATLAB
g.DAQsys
is the perfect tool for all kinds of data acquisition from physiological
research to applied industrial research. The system runs under MATLAB
and provides data acquisition, online visualization and storage of up to
64 channels. In addition to the PC–version (with application dependent
16, 32 or 64 channels) we offer a portable version with 16 or 32 analog
channels. g.DAQsys allows the simultaneous acquisition and analysis of
biosignals and external signals.
A special connector box gives access to all
inputs and outputs for communication with external devices such as g.BSamp
and g.STIMunit. |

Mobile
biosignal acquisition and processing on the Pocket PC
g.MOBIlab -
g.tec's portable biosignal acquisition and analysis system - is the perfect
tool for recording multimodal biosignal data on a standard Pocket PC. This
allows to investigate brain-, heart-, muscle-activity, eye movement,
respiration, galvanic skin response and other body signals. g.MOBIlab comes with 4 EEG/EOG, 2 ECG/EMG channels and 2 analog
inputs which can be utilized for other sensors. A switch can be connected
for external triggering of the data. |

Signal analysis software
Multi-modal off-line biosignal analysis under MATLAB
(PREREQUISITE: MATLAB 6.5, Signal Processing Toolbox
!) g.BSanalyze - gtec's
Biosignal Analysis software is an interactive environment for multimodal
biosignal data processing and analysis in the fields of clinical
research and life sciences. The investigation of patterns and signal
features of biosignals allows to observe non-invasively brain,
heart- and muscle functions and dysfunctions. |

Powerful EEG / ERP Post-processing and Dipole Source
Modeling
BESA (Brain Electrical Source Analysis) is the most widely
used software for source analysis and dipole localization in EEG and MEG
research. BESA has been developed on the basis of 18 years experience in
human brain research by Michael Scherg, University of Heidelberg, and
Patrick Berg, University of Konstanz. BESA is a highly versatile and user-friendly Windows®
program with optimized tools and scripts to preprocess raw or averaged data
for source analysis. All important aspects of source analysis are displayed
in one window for immediate selection of a wide range of tools. BESA
provides a variety of source analysis algorithms, a standardized realistic
head model (FEM), and allows for fast and easy hypothesis testing and
integration with MRI and fMRI.

Modular biosignal analysis and
multimodal integration suite
EMSE Suite 5.1 is a superb, modular solution for
the full range of EEG / MEG and multimodal neuroimaging applications, and
the capabilities of the software lend themselves to analysis of ECG /
BSPM data as well. EMSE Suite includes a set of powerful tools for source localization and
combination of biosignal results with other imaging modalities, such as MRI, CT,
fMRI and PET. EMSE's modular architecture allows modules to operate
independently or as a tightly-integrated suite. |
